Atlanto-occipital dislocation - types
Complete atlanto-occipital dislocation (AOD) can be divided into three distinct types.
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Type I | ventral dislocation - the most common |
| Type II | axial dislocation - the most unstable |
| Type III | dorsal dislocation - rare |
